In his 20 years of teaching at the Mannheim University of Music,
Evgeni Orkin recognized the importance and unmistakable effect of the aspect of "historical instruments" on the content, effectiveness and success of instrumental lessons.
This led to his engagement with the historical clarinet.
In 2018, his book "Methodical Introduction to Learning and Using the Historical Clarinet in Historically Informed Performance Practice" was published. It combines the informative and practical aspects of the historical clarinet, as well as a series of exercises and etudes that were written specifically for this practice and has since been helpful in everyday teaching and practice.
In 2019, this book was also published in German and Ukrainian.
(A methodical approach to learning and playing the historical clarinet and its usage in historical performance practice)

A large collection of original instruments from 1770 to 1930 was created.
Many of them have already been involved in the recording practice.
Accordingly, the cooperation with the Tutz family, Frank Bernhard, Riccardo von Vittorelli, Jochen Seggelke, etc. developed on an exchange and restoration basis.
